Jeep Club Meeting
January 3, 2008

Secretaries: Tiffany motioned to approved minutes as published, seconded. Minutes
accepted as published.
Treasures: Dues to the PNW are due this month so please pay your dues. There are still dues
owed for 2007 so please get to that Debbie as soon as possible. If you purchased
a jacket please pay Debbie.
Sunshine: Mary Kelly is very busy and would like to have some one take over
her sunshine duties. Machelle made motion for Jo Saylor’s to take over
the position, motion seconded and approved. Jo is the new sunshine.
Birthdays for this month: Jo, Stacie, Dennis, Jed, Bonnie. Its Jed and
Mary’s anniversary. There will be a tailgate party for Dennis Martin’s
Birthday on the 19th at the Monster Truck…. It’s his 60th!!!!
Social: Saturday is the Murder Mystery Dinner trial run at the Caudill’s home at
12:30, make sure to bring a side dish for a potluck. Debbie will provide
burgers and dogs. If you plan to participate with the real dinner please
show up so you can no how the dinner will flow. The snow run will be
at Scott Turner after the dinner at 4:30, meet at the Caudill’s if you would
like to go.
Scout: Lots of snow at Scott Turner. Don went to Evan’s Creek on the 27th of
December there was a lot of snow they camped overnight there. Saturday
the snow run is at Scott Turner meet at the Caudill’s house at 4:30 if you
would like to go. Ken reported that the gate to Surprise Lake Camp
ground was open.
Delegates: There was no Delegate’s meeting in December. Winter Convention will
be at 7 Feather’s in Oregon on February 9 & 10th. The Moonshiners
rented two buses if you would like to ride down on the bus there is a
$50.00 round trip fee. Tiffany and Jo volunteered to attend the convention
for the club. Dan Morris made a motion to pay for $100.00 in
transportation fees whether they ride the bus or drive down, and the club
will pay for one night stay. Dan Bowers seconded it.
Charities: Trial dinner this weekend at Tony and Debbie’s house. Tony and Debbie
have a friend who lives in the flood zone in Pe Ell and could use some
general help cleaning up. The club would like to help out, Tony & Debbie
will get some dates we can go down and clean up. After the clean up is
done there will probably be an opportunity to help rebuild his home. He is
in need of an electrician to put in a power pole, so if you know of any one
contact Tony. Debbie dropped off $500.00 worth of items to the Tacoma
Rescue Mission in December. They were very appreciative.
Old Business: AED - Machelle reported that it would be right at $2,500.00 to buy the
all the equipment. Ryan voiced his concerns about purchasing a AED,
he would like to see everyone learn and be confident in CPR skills before
we purchase a AED. He believes a good first aid kit that’s water proof is a
better investment. He would like to see everyone take a CPR course and
once complete they would receive a first aid kit. Ryan, Machelle, & Dan
Bowers will work on the getting prices for the kits. The Rescue Mission
did not have the days open we could donate our time they do have
February 16th & 23rd. They also have several days in March. The club
decided to hold off for a couple of months and reassess. Dan Bowers is
still in the process of moving so if you are available give him a call.
New Business: May play day was discussed, we will have the normal events; OB,
barrels, sprints, and cross country. We will have a mud bog. Frank will
talk to Joy about flyers. Kendall will get the sponsor letters for people
who are getting sponsors. Machelle will call Angie Marek about costs for
the park. Dennis is trying to get a second machine for the park. Dennis
volunteered to cook the Saturday dinner for the club. The under age
drinking from last year was discussed and the possibility for the need of
security at this next play day. We talked about the use of wrist bands and
admit one tickets for accountability. Dennis will talk to Keith Peterson
about getting the insurance for the playday. Heath volunteered to reserve
the comp stuff.
The Daffodil Parade is coming up and we are okay to participate in the
Orting Parade and we can give out candy. When participating in the
Parade we need to be single file and no reving the motor. The parade is
April 19th.
Todd will get SCR decals phone number to see about having them make
our decals.
